Wow. I can't speak for Nacho_nd, but I am certainly interested. Are they doing a bamboo frame and felting the wool for a base for the mylar? We don't have much bamboo in northern Idaho, but we've got willow, which will do a lot of the same things, and we've got a yak herd (friends of friends) in the area (as well as sheep, llamas, alpacas... lots of domestic wooly critters up here ). I actually do know people (some of whom are already felters, if that is part of the process, and some of whom already work with willow) who might be interested in this, and I am certainly interested in knowing what the basic concept for the construction is, so if you could put me in touch or give even a little more information, I would be very grateful.

Thanks! That was very interesting. A lightweight, portable parabolic cooker that can be manufactured from simple, widely available local materials (except for the mylar, but at least that is relatively light and inexpensive) strikes me as an uncommonly good idea for a lot of people in a lot of places.
